Church planting is a term referring to the process that results in a new local Christian congregation being established.
It is often born out of successful evangelical work that places a demand for a location to disciple those who are being added to the Kingdom of God.
It will be necessary to appoint a number of leaders and write a Church constitution and apply to relevant authority through legal counsel who will also inform you of a number of other requirements including the initial level of funding.
You will want to purchase some basic items at the very least to make the proposed location functional and agree terms and conditions and pay for access to the venue. The legal process will take months to complete.
Whilst this is being done, you will want to establish the Church culture, and this can partially be expressed in outlining a diary of observances and events for the year to come.
For example, will the Church fast, will she go out corporately and evangelise, will she pick up the congregation from their homes and bring them to Church; how often and when will holy communion occur and so on.
But how you talk to and support one another will be transferred by impartation to the congregation and determine the levels of unconditional love and grace upon the Church.
You will want to agreed Church doctrine. For example, do you encourage praying in tongues, healing and deliverance and so on.
Finally, whilst you can start the flock of God on milk it is important to move the congregation onto the meat of Kingdom principles so that the congregation grows in spiritual maturity. To that end, I recommend that some performance measures and training processes be put in place to ensure that the quality of what is taught in the Church is of a consistently good standard and the burden is shared to reduce the risk of burn out and provide opportunities for new leader to come onstream,
If the hand of God is upon the Church and these matters above are handled prayerfully, then in the fulness of time, God will be glorified.
